Solana Foundation Opens Shanghai Office
CW 42 Solana Foundation opened an office in Shanghai, expanding its presence in China. Uniswap v4 surpassed v3 in trading volume, accounting for nearly 50% of protocol activity. Meanwhile, Binance announced plans to shut down its mining pool services in November.
Solana Foundation opens Shanghai office
Solana Foundation has set up a new office in Shanghai and marked the launch with a Solana-branded advertising campaign across the city's skyline. Rachel Conlan, the foundation's chief strategy officer, shared photos of the new workspace and the outdoor branding on X, writing that visiting the office and "seeing Solana light up the Shanghai skyline" was "quite a way to kick off the week", adding that the local community's energy was incredible.
The post drew roughly 601,000 views and a wave of replies from Chinese-speaking community members reacting to the campaign. Conlan previously served as Binance's global chief marketing officer before joining Solana Foundation in September 2026. The Shanghai footprint signals the foundation's continued push into mainland China's developer and retail market at a time when Solana is competing with Ethereum and other L1s for global liquidity.

Uniswap v4 overtakes v3 as largest venue
Uniswap says v4 has become the protocol's largest version by trading volume, processing more than $44 billion over the past 30 days. That represents 49.9% of total Uniswap Protocol volume, edging past v3 at 44.9%, while the legacy v2 accounts for 5.2%. In effect, nearly half of all Uniswap activity now runs through the newest iteration of the AMM.
v4 launched on January 31, 2025 and operates across 12 blockchains, introducing customizable liquidity pools (hooks) and improved transaction efficiency that lowers costs for swappers. The milestone marks a relatively fast migration path versus prior version transitions, though it also highlights that v3 retains a near-equal share of volume. The UNI token has been closely watched alongside the shift, with traders eyeing resistance levels as the protocol consolidates activity into its newest deployment.

Binance Pool to end mining services
Binance will permanently shut down Binance Pool and all related mining services on November 10, 2026 at 07:00 UTC, ending more than six years of operation. The closure, announced on October 13, covers Binance Pool itself along with Pool Savings, Cloud Mining, Transaction Accelerator and mining APIs; Telegram hashrate alerts and email notifications will also stop.
Miners are instructed to move their equipment to alternative pools and replace Binance's Stratum connection addresses before the deadline. Eligible mining shares submitted before the cutoff will be included in final reward calculations, and Pool Savings users must redeem or cancel active positions and complete outstanding identity checks by November 10 at 23:59 UTC. Historical mining records and payout data will remain accessible until November 24 at 07:00 UTC, after which remaining pages will be permanently closed.
Binance launched the pool in April 2020 and later added a $500 million lending program for Bitcoin miners in October 2022 and Ordinals inscription services in August 2023. The exchange said the decision follows a regular product review and does not affect its broader trading business; no replacement mining provider was named.
