Binance lists Hong Kong stock perpetual futures contracts

Binance has announced the listing of five new perpetual futures contracts starting July 17, 2026. The exchange will launch the MiniMax perpetual contract (MINIMAXUSDT) at 11:00, followed by Zhipu AI (ZHIPUUSDT) at 11:05, Tencent Quanto (HK0700USDT) at 11:10, Xiaomi Quanto (HK1810USDT) at 11:15, and Tencent (TENCENTUSDT) at 13:00 UTC+8.When symbols are named after the company name like MINIMAXUSDT or TENCENTUSDT, they are USDT-Priced Contract. When symbols are named as the stock code like HK0700USDT and HK1810USDT, they are Quanto Perpetual Contract. Difference as follows:

  • The Price Index of a USDT-Priced Contract is obtained based on the price of the underlying asset on the exchange on which it is primarily traded (in this case, the price of the relevant Hong Kong stock on the HKEX), with a HKD/USD FX rate applied. The FX rate is provided by a third party vendor and updated on a real time basis.
  • A quanto contract is a futures contract in which the underlying asset is priced in one quote asset, but the margin and P&L are settled in another quote asset. In this case, the price of the relevant Hong Kong stock on the HKEX is treated as if denominated in USDT on a one-to-one basis for the purposes of margining and settlement, without any foreign exchange conversion.

Pendle launches PT auto-looping feature

Pendle has introduced PT auto-looping on its app, simplifying a previously tedious manual process of supply, borrow, swap, and repeat into a matter of seconds. The new V2 feature automates one of DeFi's most rewarding but labour-intensive strategies, which previously required 10-30 minutes of manual work. Users can select a target leverage and open or close a loop in just a few clicks. My thoughts are that Pendle might not want to do it in the past, because this brings liquidation risk and users might blame Pendle for that. But now under bearish market, Pendle needs the trading volume. So Pendle takes a balanced approach that only selected blue-chip yield bearing stable coins can do auto-looping.

Coinbase opens registrations for mainland China users with ID-only KYC

Coinbase has quietly enabled account registration for users in mainland China, allowing them to complete KYC verification using only a Chinese national ID card. The exchange made no public announcement about the change, but users discovered the updated registration flow on Coinbase's sign-up page, which now accepts Chinese identity documents. The move marks a significant shift for the US-based exchange, which previously restricted access for Chinese users amid regulatory uncertainty. China banned cryptocurrency trading and mining in 2021, pushing exchanges to exit the market. Coinbase's quiet policy change could signal a strategic expansion or a relaxation of compliance concerns, though the regulatory environment in China remains unchanged. It remains unclear what prompted the change or how long the policy will remain in place. The development has sparked discussion in the crypto community, with some viewing it as a sign of growing institutional access to Chinese users, while others question the regulatory implications for both Coinbase and its users.
